Who are we?
We are passionate and SEO professional. For our own use, we have developed a tool to check our sites positions on Google. Then we decided to share our experience with the largest number Ranks.fr launching in 2005 on the french market. Today, Ranks.fr has evolved and is now well known in the SEO group :-)
What is the purpose of Ranks.fr?
Ranks.fr allows you to follow daily the positions of your sites on Google, but also to monitor their evolution over time.

Ranks.fr functionnalities
What are the main functionnalities?
Ranks.fr offers a daily summary of your positions of the day on Google, with its changes from the previous day, and the number of results. It also shows the graphic evolution of your positions over a period. Other functionnialities are available today, i.e add events, data export, tracking your competitors daily, etc.
What is RankSeo ?
This index, we created, used to describe the visibility of a site for a group of keywords. The score is between 0 and 100, and even if we keep the recipe of the complete calculation jealously secret, it is determined from the following items: search volume of keywords by Internet users, its concurrentialité between advertisers, and finally the position of the site on the keyword.

Positions on Google
What is the results recovery methodology?
Results are recovered by pages of 10 results, up to the 10th page (100 results in total. Beyond the 100th position results are less meaningful because too unstable : we do not recover them anymore). We provide your real ranking "visible for Internet users", because Google offers by default 10 results per page (and not 50 or 100 in one go).
What time are the positions calculated?
Our engine extracts results every morning. Your position summary is also updated every morning around 10AM in general.
Do the positions come from the "real" results?
Of course. Our engine extracts results from "real Google" and not from Google API (which gives differents results). This one can be google.fr, google.com, google.es, etc, according to the choosen language.
My website does not appear in the results, what could I do?
Only the first 100 positions are recovered for each of the keywords. Your site is certainly beyond. If you think it is not the case, do not hesitate to contact us, we will look with you.
My positions are slghtly different, is this normal?
Results from Google are in constant movement, and this is especially true if the request is competitive. It is possible to have some slight differences with positions you have seen, especially if you connect in the evening.

How to test our service for free ?
If you do not have an account just click on Sign up tab, then complete and submit the form requesting an URL (a site), keywords, your login and password, and your email adress. This adress is very important because it allows us to communicate very important information. Your account will inactivated if this adress is wrong.
